Have a story to share about your experience working in research related to vaccine or immunology?

Keen to educate the general public in the issue of vaccination?

Interested in writing a science fiction on the importance of vaccine to humanity?

The upcoming Scientific Malaysian Magazine (Issue 12) will be our first theme-based issue, and our first theme is “Vaccine & Immunology”! Write an article related to this theme and we will reward the author of the best article* with RM500 cash.

Submit your article by 15 March 2016 by emailing magazine[at]scientificmalaysian.com!

* All submissions will be reviewed by our editorial team, and shortlisted articles will be published in Scientific Malaysian Magazine Issue 12. Published articles will then be subjected to public voting on our website and social media channels.

Rules and regulation:

  1. Articles must be written and submitted according to our submission guidelines at http://magazine.scientificmalaysian.com/submission-guidelines/.
  2. Articles can be in the form of an educational article, opinion piece, experience sharing, book review or creative writing (short fiction).
  3. Word limit is 1,500 words (for book review and creative writing, the word limit is 800 words).
  4. A shortlist of best articles will be chosen by the editors of Scientific Malaysian Magazine. Shortlisted articles will be published in Issue 12 of Scientific Malaysian Magazine.
  5. Published articles will then be subjected to public voting on our website and social media channels. The best article will be decided based on total number of shares, likes, tweets, and votes accrued over a period of 2 months (further details below).
  6. Editors’ decision is final.
  7. The winner of the best article will be contacted via email upon completion of the voting period.

Voting instructions:

We will count each of the following as one vote, and the article with the most number of votes will be our competition winner:
  1. “Like” on the Facebook post of each article (when we share the article on our Facebook page)
  2. “Public Share” on the Facebook post of each article (when we share the article on our Facebook page) – Note that non-public/private sharing of the post will not be counted.
  3. “+1” on the Google+ post of each article (when we share the article on our Google+ Page
  4. “Public Share” on the Google+ post of each article (when we share the article on our Google+ Page) – Note that non-public/private sharing of the post will not be counted.
  5. “Retweet” on Twitter (when we share the article on our Twitter page)
  6. “Vote” by a Scientific Malaysian member (the poll is available here and is open only to all registered members of Scientific Malaysian)
The voting will close on August 12, 2016. The winner will be announced shortly after this date.
